With the economy in a downward spiral and TV providers compete for customers have the same problems still go unsolved for years by the FCC appear to be. One of the main Things that cable and satellite companies still seem to argue about is the right to be in a position to only certain networks and sports channels that they own to their clients just do not authorize, and satellite customers to have to show, access to these channels.
Even though the law stipulates that cable and satellite companies are not allowed to certain channels, they refuse even from other vendors. There is a gap in the law that allows companies like Comcast to certain markets like Philadelphia-control, and other companies to the markets like San Diego, control, and certain parts of North Carolina.
Through the control of these areas, Comcast only allows their clients, local sports programming see in these markets through their service only. For example, fans of the Philadelphia Flyers can only watch games through Comcast unless it was a game worth seeing ABC, NBC, ESPN or a network.
If the FCC has given the green light and closes the so-called "terrestrial loophole" that customers in the affected markets Comcast will be able to see their local sports programming from satellite providers like Dish Network and ultimately save money.
For Comcast, they have many customers in these major markets lose, only Comcast service to their local sports teams subscribe to see. Once it through all the major TV providers are available to a significant decline Clients in these areas to see.
